Brandt concludes agreement with Cervus and creates international equipment distribution center

REGINA, SK, 22 October 2021 / CNW / – Brandt Tractor Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Brandt Group of Companies, is pleased to announce that it has successfully acquired Cervus Equipment Corp. 12 October 2021 vote of Cervus shareholders. The transaction sees the publicly traded Cervus move to 100% private ownership in an all-cash transaction.

The historic transaction creates from Canada the largest network of equipment dealers, adding 64 locations of agricultural, transport and material handling equipment to Brandt’s existing John Deere Construction & Forestry dealerships across Canada. When fully integrated, it will give Cervus customers access to Brandt’s extensive national spare parts and technical support infrastructure.

The purchase strengthens the company’s position as a leading Canadian private company and as the largest John Deere dealer in the world.

The agreement gives Brandt unparalleled market penetration, expanding their geographic footprint and allowing the company to add John Deere agricultural equipment in certain markets; Peterbilt transport equipment; and Clark, Sellick, JLG, Baumann and other material handling equipment in addition to their already impressive list of products and services.

With the acquisition of the Cervus sites in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Brandt now owns and operates 120 full-service equipment dealers with over 50 additional service points and employs over 5,100 people.

The transaction will have a significant impact across the industry as the company rolls out plans to introduce expanded parts inventories, after-sales service capabilities and extended hours of operation at former Cervus dealerships. As operations are integrated, the staff at these locations is expected to increase by up to 40% with the construction of major new facilities across the network.

The transaction was officially closed on 22 October 2021.
