SUnkist Growers launched a 4.5kg (10lb) red card and matching bin display to mark the Year of the Tiger with a personalized gold tiger illustration.
The new packaging designs are being rolled out in a range of markets in Asia ahead of the Lunar New Year (LNY), including China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.
“The bright, vivid colors of the cardboard and bins are visually appealing and showcase the natural beauty of citrus,” said Christina Ward, senior director of global marketing for Sunkist Growers.
“We know that citrus fruits play an important role as a symbol of prosperity during the Lunar New Year. We’re honored to be a part of these long-standing traditions and to be able to offer buyers fresh oranges and more, grown by our farmers in California and Arizona.
While navel oranges are Sunkist’s main seller for the festivities, the packaging is designed to showcase a range of citrus offerings.
“This year the beautiful box can hold either Navel oranges or Cara Cara oranges, giving citrus buyers more flexibility with their Lunar New Year promotions,” Ward said.
Plus, we have matching displays to add to the in-store festivities, which can hold any Sunkist variety, including California Mandarins and our big, sweet Pummelos. “
