Swoon, a Chicago-based IT and financial/accounting staffing firm, announced the acquisition of Grapevine, a Creston, Iowa-based provider of executive and contingent search services. Its customers include leading organizations in life sciences, material handling, appliances and industrial automation.
“Grapevine is an incredible organization that has partnered with many of America’s most iconic companies since its launch in 2000,” said Swoon President Andy Baker.
The agreement aims to provide increased support and capabilities to customers of both companies in areas including IT and engineering, digital and creative marketing, and finance and accounting.
“Our partnership will allow us to expand our reach and services to include IT/software, creative/digital and consulting, as well as our comprehensive executive, retainer and contingent search offering,” said Susan Dunphy. , CEO of Grapevine.
Dunphy, who was the seller of the business, will remain with the merged company for at least a year.
Grapevine will operate as a division of Swoon; eventually, the business will operate under the Swoon brand, but a specific date for a rebrand has not been set.
Terms of the transaction were not announced.
