Position title: Director – Entrepreneurial Development

Under the responsibility of: CEO

Location: Invest Turks and Caicos – Providenciales

Under the general supervision of the CEO, the Executive Director responsible for small business support will manage all aspects of small business support, including creating and administering annual budgets; ensure that agreed milestones are met; preparing tax reports; supervising staff; identification and networking with partner agencies; and providing technical assistance to new and existing business owners.

Essential functions

  1. Plans, coordinates and evaluates resources to ensure comprehensive service delivery to the micro, small and medium TCI community.
  2. Together with the CEO, develops the annual budget.
  3. Develops contracts and partnerships to generate additional revenue, including identification and development of grant applications.
  4. Monitors grant and contract compliance and prepares quarterly and annual financial reports and other required reports.
  5. Fosters positive working relationships with public and private sector stakeholders and their staff, ensuring they are aware of Invest TCI services available to micro, small and medium communities and, if necessary, defending the rights of micro, small and medium-sized owners and new entrepreneurs.
  6. Provides direct communication and creates an ongoing working relationship with financial institutions, legal and business associations, private consulting firms and micro, small and medium associations.
  7. Liaises between the college, chambers of commerce and other organizations involved in micro, small and medium-sized aid and economic development.
  8. Represents and is an advocate on behalf of the micro, small and medium community with public and private institutions and organizations.
  9. Provides oversight and supervision of staff and consultants.
  10. Provides personalized advice to small business clients.
  11. Develops and facilitates business workshops to support Invest TCI objectives.
  12. Provides presentations on Invest TCI and/or specific topics to classes, community organizations, financial institutions, government entities and others.
  13. Participates in appropriate committees to promote the Invest TCI agenda.
  14. Participates in regional and international MSME conferences and meetings within budget allocations.
  15. Develops and/or coordinates a marketing plan, including social media and other electronic marketing, for Invest TCI’s small business services and programs.
  16. Develops and implements appropriate evaluation procedures to ensure the quality of services provided.
  17. Performs other related duties as required.

    14. Administer TCIG policies related to the operation of Invest TCI.
    15. Supervise and evaluate employees.
    16. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
    17. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with government, bankers, business and industry representatives.
    18. Working with diverse MSME population, socio-economic, cultural, linguistic, ethnic backgrounds and community disabilities.
      1. Completed bachelor’s degree from an accredited four (4) year university with a major in business administration, public administration or related field; MBA preferred.
      2. Four (4) years of related experience with at least two (2) years of managerial/supervisory experience.

Minimum job requirements

Salary: per year depending on qualifications and experience.
